With the help of ceramic specimens, medical samples from the doctor’s bag and a final post mortem from Mr William Hogarth – Lars anatomizes the varied Worlds of Dr John Wall (1708-1776), eminent physician, Three Choirs director and (not least) father of Worcester Porcelain

One hot summer day in 1940, the German army captured a young French composer-turned-infantryman as his company marched on the road from Verdun to Nancy. They interned him in Stalag VIII (near Görlitz in Silesia) along with his knapsack full of scores of Bach and Berg.
