Formerly a student at Trinity College, Cambridge and Trinity College of
Music, she has recently appeared in the St Matthew Passion (Manchester Camerata), Messiah (English Concert in Paris and OAE at Lincoln Center), Stephen Pratt's Uneasy Vespers II (world premiere with RLPO) and Bach's Cantata BWV170 (John Eliot Gardiner in Köthen). Her stage appearances include The Full Monteverdi with I Fagiolini (90 performances and a film), Zinnia in Chabrier's L'Etoile (Gardiner, at Paris' Opéra Comique), and Galatea in Aci, Galatea e Polifemo (London Handel Festival/Cummings). Recent CDs include Messiah and St Matthew Passion
(both with Dunedin Consort / John Butt). Clare sings regularly with
Fretwork, and the John Joubert commission (premièred at the Wigmore
Hall in February 2009) was written for Clare and Fretwork.
