James Gilchrist began his working life as a doctor, turning to a full-time career in music in 1996. He is a highly sought after soloist from the USA to Japan and has worked with major conductors, orchestras and ensembles as well as regularly appearing as a recitalist at St John's Smith Square, Wigmore Hall and for the BBC. Operatic performances include work in Istanbul, Berlin, Brussels & with the ENO. James is also a prolific recording artist for Chandos, EMI, Collins Classics, ASV & Hyperion.
