The Festival Club and the Friends of Hereford Three Choirs Festival
The Friends organise hospitality at the festival, including the Festival Club, and also sponsor one of the evening concerts. The Club is provided and staffed by volunteers from the Friends of Hereford Three Choirs Festival.

The three elements of the Club - the Shirehall, the HCS Dining Hall and the HCS Zimmerman Building courtyard - are open to members only.

Club membership costs: £1 per day, or £5 for the week, payable at the Shirehall
Members of the Three Choirs Festival Society and those who have bought festival stewardships are automatically members: please wear your Society/Steward's badge to help the Club volunteers to identify you.
Members of the Friends of the Hereford Three Choirs Festival are also automatically members and will be given a badge.

Club facilities
1. In the Shirehall, in St.Peter's Square
Open from 10.00 a.m.; closes at 8.00 p.m.
Serving: tea / coffee / light snacks / buffet cold lunches and pre-concert cold suppers.

2. In the Dining Hall of Hereford Cathedral School (at the back of No.1 Castle Street)
Pre-concert three-course hot suppers, with a glass of wine: cost £12.00.

Suppers must be pre-booked and paid for at the Shirehall no later than 2.30 p.m. the same day. You may pre-book for as many days in advance as you wish.
(NB The capacity of the Dining Hall is limited: book early to avoid disappointment!)

Supper is served at 6.00 p.m..
The Dining Hall closes shortly before the start of the main evening concert in the cathedral.

3. In the Zimmerman Building courtyard at Hereford Cathedral School (off Church Street)
A bar where concertgoers can socialise. Open from 12 noon; closes 11.30 p.m..

CATHEDRAL ATTRACTIONS during Festival week

Celebrating the Saints - inside the Cathedral (all new since the Three Choirs Festival in August 2006):

• Restored St.Thomas Cantilupe shrine in the north transept, with painting by Peter Murphy and wall-hangings by Croft Design (2008)
• St.Ethelbert shrine with twelve icons by Peter Murphy, in front of the Lady Chapel (2007)
• Stained glass windows by Tom Denny commemorating the Herefordshire poet and mystic Thomas
Traherne, in the Audley Chapel (off the Lady Chapel) (2007)

Mappa Mundi exhibition - the best surviving 13th century world map - and

Chained Library - the largest surviving in Britain (chains prevented books from being stolen)

Special exhibition of the Hereford Magna Carta (1217)

Cathedral shop with special Festival-related products

Cathedral café, serving tea / coffee / snacks and light lunches throughout the Festival

Evensong sung by the Cathedral Voluntary Choir on Sunday 9th,
and by the combined cathedral choirs on Monday 10th (the BBC will be recording this service), Tuesday 11th, Thursday 13th and Friday 14th

Vespers at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday 15th, sung from the 13th century Hereford Breviary
(probably for the first time in Hereford Cathedral for several hundred years)
