Denise Leigh is the winner of channel 4's Operatunity: a
nationwide search to find an amateur singer who could be trained
intensively, terrified, have cameras stuck in their face, and survive
long enough to sing the role of Gilda in Verdi's Rigoletto at the home
of ENO, the London Coliseum.
Workshops are led by John Rowlands-Pritchard. He was a pupil of John
Stevens at Cambridge, and gave lecture demonstrations of Professor
Stevens' isosyllabic interpretation of mediaeval monody.
Matthew Brook
has appeared as a soloist throughout Europe, Australia, South Africa
and the Far East. He has worked with, among others, Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Richard
Hickox, Sir Charles Mackerras and Harry Christophers.
Born in Liverpool, Nicholas Mulroy
studied at Cambridge University and at the Royal Academy of Music.
Recent appearances include performances at the Concertgebouw and Royal
Festival Hall.
