2009 marks the sixtieth anniversary of the premiere of the Finzi Clarinet Concerto in Hereford in 1949, and we welcome back the renowned British clarinetist Emma Johnson to perform the work. Her reputation goes before her in the classical world, and this is a piece which she has performed and recorded many times. We also begin our marking of the 200th anniversary of the death of Joseph Haydn, with a performance of his Te Deum, and continue our seasonal theme with Britten's great Spring Symphony.
