Musica Beata is a Midlands based chamber choir comprising between 6 and 16 singers, all of whom are professional singers. Many of their members are past choral scholars of various Oxford and Cambridge colleges, and they pride themselves on a wide-ranging repertoire, performed to a very high standard, alongside a willingness to turn their hands to any sort of musical opportunity that comes their way.
Musica Beata are currently working regularly with a Danish conductor, Peter Hanke, and the Said Business School in Oxford doing workshops that use the concept of choral conducting as an analogue for business leadership. These workshops now form part of several high profile programmes including the Strategic Leadership Programme, the African Leadership Institute, and the regular sessions run for Standard Chartered Bank.
This sort of interaction between business and the arts is a massive growth area, which give business people the opportunity to gain a different perspective on issues of creativity and leadership, while benefitting the musicians who also have something to gain from the experience.
