Polly was brought up in Kent, studied Music at Sheffield University and currently enjoys a varied musical career.
As a music educationalist, Polly has devised and led projects engaging people of all ages and abilities. She has worked alongside artists such as Ensemble 360, Trevor Pinnock, The Lindsays and Matthew Barley and has led workshops in schools, community venues, hospitals and theatres.
As a children's concert narrator, she has performed around the UK in productions including Snap! Snap! by Richard Chew, Giddy Goat by Paul Rissmann, Dirty Beasts by Martin Butler, Goulash the Ghoul, with music by Bartók and story by Jan Page, Little Red Riding Hood by Rory Boyle. She has performed live on BBC Radio 3 and has given concerts at the Wigmore Hall, London.
She is currently narrating a national tour of The Lion Who Wanted to Love by composer Paul Rissmann with Ensemble 360, for children aged 3+.
As Education and Outreach Manager with Music in the Round, Polly has devised projects, commissioned new works (Snap! Snap! and Giddy Goat), managed projects and created and marketed classical music concerts which aim to bring high quality music to more people.
Polly also plays regularly with Simply Strings Trio and Escafeld String Quartet, teaches the cello and conducts Sheffield Music Service's Rivelin Children's Orchestra.
