General Ticketing Help

In order to buy tickets using our online interface, either click on the 'Book Tickets' link in the top left hand corner of the screen, or find the event for which you wish to buy tickets using the menu on the right hand side of the main Gloucester pages, and the click on the 'Buy Tickets' button. This will open up the Ticketing interface, which expands down from the top of the page, allowing you to still view the page you were originally on.

The Ticketing Interface is split into 4 sections:

1. Select an Event

2. Select Seat Category

3. Choose your Seats

4. Confirm your selection

Simon Preston

As a soloist and choral director, he has appeared with many of the world's leading orchestras, and his recordings have won universal acclaim. His work with the choirs of Christ Church Oxford and Westminister Abbey set standards of excellence which are regarded as points of reference.

During the past nine years Simon has toured extensively as a soloist in North America, the Far East, Australia and South Africa. His recordings for DG during this time have included the complete organ works of Bach, the Camille Saint-Saëns' Organ Symphony with the Berlin Philharmonic, the Francis Poulenc Concerto with the Boston Symphony and the Copland Organ Symphony with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.  

There are currently more than 40 CD’s of his work available, including two versions of the G.F. Handel Organ Concertos with both Sir Yehudi Menuhin and Trevor Pinnock as well as J.S. Bach's Brandenburg Concerto as harpsichord soloist. In addition, Simon Preston is Artistic Director for the Calgary International Organ Festival. 

Mendelssohn Overture to St Paul (arr. W.T.Best)
The overture to Mendelssohn's Oratorio St Paul, Op 36 written between 1832 and 1836 and arranged for organ by the early 20th century organist WT Best.

Schumann 6 fugues on B.A.C.H Op 60
Written in 1845, these fugues are set to the B.A.C.H motif sequence of notes B flat, A, C, B natural, the most frequently occurring example of a cruciform melody,  representative of a christian cross and a homage to JS Bach.

Written by Joseph Jongen in 1930, this majestic sonata is in C sharp minor and inspired by Marcel Dupre.
