TCF artists up for BBC Music awards

Several of the artists who will be performing at the Hereford Three Choirs Festival this summer have been nominated for BBC Music magazine awards for CD recordings released in 2014. Pianist Steven Osborne has been nominated in the Chamber Music category for his recording of Prokofiev’s violin sonata with Alina Ibragimova [Hyperion CDA 67514]. In the Choral category, Roderick Williams features on Choral Works by Harrison Birtwistle, with the BBC Singers and the Nash Ensemble, conducted by Nicholas Kok [Signum SIGCD368; and both mezzo-soprano Sarah Connolly and conductor Sir Andrew Davis have been nominated for their recording of The Dream of Gerontius, with Stuart Skelton in the title role, baritone David Soar and the BBC Symphony Chorus and Orchestra [Chandos CHSA5140].
