The main concert of our festival is given by Gloucester Choral Society with the Oxford Bach Choir and the Philharmonia Orchestra, conducted by Adrian Partington.

The Ode on the Nativity, composed by Parry for the Three Choirs Festival in 1912, is rarely performed today but is quintessential Parry. It is performed here with the well-known anthems I was Glad and Jerusalem, alongside Holst’s Hymn of Jesus and the orchestral scoring of Ireland’s Greater love hath no man. The concert will also feature Vaughan William’s Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis, performed by the Philharmonia in the acoustic in which it was first performed in 1910.

This will be a wonderful celebration of the work of Parry and his pupils, a real feast of English music, and is not to be missed.

This event can be booked individually or as part of the Parry Pass, which includes all events in the Parry Festival and offers an overall discount of 8%.  Parry Passes are limited and can be booked by telephone only on 01452 768928 from 12th July 2017, or in person at the Three Choirs Ticket Office in Worcester between 17th-29th July 2017.
