What is the Youth Choir?
Are you a singer aged 14-25 and looking to take part in the Three Choirs Festival? Look no further than our Festival Youth Choir!
Giving young singers in the local community a chance to perform with some of the UK's top orchestras, ensembles and soloists, the Festival Youth Choir is one of the best ways to gain valuable experience in concert!
Previous performances include:
The Pilgrim's Progress with the British Youth Opera and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (Conducted by Charlotte Corderoy)
Voices of Power with the Philharmonia Orchestra (Conducted by Samuel Hudson)
Duruflé Requiem with the Philharmonia Orchestra (Conducted by Geraint Bowen)
What will you sing?
The main concert for this year’s Youth Choir will be a performance of Ian Venables’ Requiem, together with Cecilia McDowall’s Shipping Forecast. This will be conducted by Adrian Partington, with the Philharmonia Orchestra. The performance will take place on Friday 2 August in Worcester Cathedral.
The Youth Choir will also perform evensong in Worcester Cathedral, on Sunday 28 July, conducted by Adrian Partington. The evensong repertoire will include the Stanford Evening Service in C, and Elgar’s Light of the World.
